Every Body Hit Somebody explores identity formation and gender equality through the documentation of the Carolina Phoenix, a semi-professional women's tackle football team based in Durham, North Carolina.
Still photographs comprise the backbone of a corresponding film. The 43-minute experimental documentary is constructed from archival media combined with 16mm film, still photographs, and photo-elicitation interviews. Accounts from players and observations of them throughout their 2013 championship season testify to their strength and resilience in the face of barriers still imposed on American women.
